Our School Trip to the Garda Lake

In September we went on a 2-day-trip to Lake Garda. There were all 14 of us, the 2AR, including two teachers.

From Brixen we headed straight to Rovereto, from where we took the bus to Riva. The journey in total lasted 3 hours.

After arriving, we had a little free time, where we discovered the nice city and had lunch. After that we hired mountain bikes, which we rode all the way to Arco, where we enjoyed a gelato. On our ride back we were rather unfortunate with the weather and got back to the hostel soaking wet. Still, it had been fun, even if we were drenched and felt like drowned rats!

After a hot shower and after we had fortified ourselves with a proper pizza, we returned to the hostel and played some games.

The next day, after a hearty breakfast at the youth hostel with its friendly warden, we went to a sailing school, where they gave us the equipment for kayaking and showed us the craft. We all then kayaked to a hidden cave with a waterfall. There we went into the cave, had some showers under the waterfall and frolicked around our boats before  we rowed back. Kayaking was great fun for everybody, but once again we were drenched!

Unfortunately, the weather didn’t play along the second day, so we decided against sailing  and went for a stroll in town instead, after which we played Weerwolf in the youth hostel anteroom.

On our way back to Brixen there was a little hiccup with the bus that was delayed, so we missed the connection in Trento, getting home only very late in the evening, but we had had a great time and also learnt a new sport activity.

As we still have the vouchers for the sailing lessons at the Garda Lake we will be back for a day in spring ready to test the waters again.
